FAKE ITEM POLICY

We don’t allow counterfeit items or unauthorised copies to be listed on Lux Emporium.

Items that have a company’s official brand name or logo can be listed, as long as the products were lawfully made by, for, or with the consent of that company.

Unauthorised copies may include items that are pirated, illegally duplicated, or bootlegged. These items may infringe on someone’s copyright or trademark.

Counterfeit products are illegal and banned on Lux Emporium. Examples include:

  • Fakes, copies, or replicas of brand name items (for example, a shoe with the Adidas name or logo that wasn’t made by Adidas)
  • Electronics or accessories that use or bear the brand name, logo, or trademark of a company that didn’t manufacture the item
  • Bootleg recordings from concerts or other live shows
  • Unauthorised or pirated copies of movies, videos, or software
  • Listings with photos that hide or blur trademarks are banned

 

  • If you’re not certain that your item is authentic, or if an authenticator has been unable to confirm its authenticity, it may not be listed

 

  • We may remove listings if we receive buyer complaints that the item is not authentic. These items may not be relisted

Activity that does not comply with Lux Emporium policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or cancelling listings, hiding all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions and account suspension.

This policy prevents the sale of counterfeit items, which are illegal, and could expose sellers to legal risk.

USED CLOTHING POLICY

Used underwear and socks are not allowed. Other used clothing must follow Lux Emporium policy.

 

We have a used clothing policy so buyers can be confident they’ll get clean, stain-free items when they buy on Lux Emporium, Health and hygiene is also one of our top priorities, so our policy outlines why some items can’t be sold on the platform:

  • Used underwear and socks are not allowed, even if they are clean. Examples include panties, briefs, boxer shorts, nappies, body shapers, girdles and athletic supporters. Bras are not considered underwear.
  • Used clothing must be properly cleaned and include a statement in the item description on the listing that the item has been properly cleaned.
  • Listings for used clothing must not include language or images that fetishise the item, like personal statements about the person modeling the item.

This policy helps maintain a professional marketplace while allowing certain used items to be offered for sale.

JEWELLERY POLICY

Jewellery purchases are high value purchases often times so it’s important that items are described properly and listed in the proper category.

Lux Emporium policy for listing in categories and subcategories are defined based on the specific composition of the item, so it’s important to understand exactly what the item is made of prior to listing

Fine jewellery

If any part of the item is fine, including the gemstone(s) or the setting, the item should be listed in the Fine Jewellery category.

  1. Plated or filled metals must be clearly described in all parts of the listing, including title, item specifics and description.
  2. Platinum, gold, and silver items must meet applicable laws for stamping:
    • Gold stamps: 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k, 24k
    • Silver stamps: Sterling Silver, .925, .999
    • Platinum stamps: Plat, Pt, 950Plat, 900Pt

  1. A diamond is a mineral consisting essentially of pure carbon, crystallized in the isometric system with a hardness of 10, specific gravity of approximately 3.52 and refractive index of 2.42.
    • If the gemstone does not meet the above definition for a diamond, you cannot list your item in the Diamond or Fine Jewellery category. If the mineral composition of the gemstone is different from the natural gemstone, you must clearly identify the item as such in all areas of your listing and product. For example, use words like “simulated” immediately preceding the use of diamond. You must also clearly describe the actual material the gemstone is made of in the item specifics and description, such as cubic zirconia, glass, rhinestone, etc.
  1. Lux Emporium prohibits the sale of diamonds, other gemstones and metals that are sourced from countries with civil conflict or that do not comply with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). When listing jewellery on Lux Emporium you agree that any item you are listing is not associated with civil conflict, terrorism or other criminal activity and complies with KPCS.
  2. All rough diamonds must be listed in the Loose Diamonds & Gemstones > Diamonds (Rough Natural) category and must comply with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). All listings and products for rough diamonds on Lux Emporium must state that the seller complies with the Kimberley Process and that the diamond is accompanied by a Kimberley Process certificate.

The sale of jewellery is heavily regulated. Our policy helps ensure both buyers and sellers understand their responsibilities and are protected in these transactions.

COSMETICS POLICY

Used cosmetics, sponges, or applicators must not be listed.

Used cosmetics present health and safety concerns because the products and applicators used to apply them often come into direct contact with the body, this is why we generally don’t allow them to be sold on Lux Emporium.

  • Listings for used cosmetics, sponges, or applicators are not allowed. This includes products like skin moisturisers, sunscreens, perfumes, lipsticks, fingernail polishes, eye and facial makeup preparations, shampoos, permanent waves, hair colours, toothpastes, and deodorants
  • Used cosmetic brushes can be sold but must be thoroughly cleaned

 

  • Cosmetics, lotions, perfumes, and colognes must come in the original container.

 

  • Homemade cosmetics must comply with government regulations

We require sellers to follow all federal and state laws and regulations when listing on Lux Emporium, because the sale of used cosmetics may be regulated or prohibited by law, or may cause harm to Lux Emporium or its users, we don’t allow sellers to list these items.
